November, December, January, and March form the first five parts of a durational project of monthly manuscripts. These monthly scrolls are a physical representation of the passage of time rendered in space.
Seeking to create a language of the female experience through writing my own body, each vulva print acts as a new architectural space in its own right.
This physically and mentally demanding performance is an act of protest to reclaim the vulva as a powerful declarative tool, a corrective to women’s historical exclusion from discourse. Once celebrated as a site of power, source of creation and birth.
Each vulva print is as a letter and each month writes itself a manuscript.
